Butler County Federated Library System pursues, provides, and promotes the highest quality public library services possible for all residents of Butler County.

The Butler County Federated Library System was founded by resolutions of the County Commissioners in 1987. Its purpose is to operate a system of autonomous public libraries within Butler County to promote, develop, and improve library (and informational) services for all County residents.

BCFLS provides the hardware, software, and technical support for the countywide library automation system. This project makes possible the online catalog database and the use of one library card throughout the county.

BCFLS coordinates library services offered by the county libraries.

The Butler County Library System Board of Directors, appointed by the Butler County Commissioners, governs, sets operating policies, and controls finances for the Butler County Federated Library System. The Board meets a minimum of six times a year and there is a time for public comment at posted meeting dates. Please contact the System Administrator at systemadmin@bcfls.org in advance to verify the meeting time and location or virtual join information.
